Contedoro homemade bread is the typical bread made in Irpinia, known and appreciated throughout the region as Pane Cafone, precisely because it still follows the ancient recipe of our peasant ancestors.

It is obtained from the recipe that has been handed down for generations, which involves the use of sourdough, known as “growing”, and the dough is expertly worked with water and salt.

Leavening takes place in wicker baskets specially created for the purpose, and baking is achieved strictly in a wood-fired oven.

The characteristic of this exquisite bread is due to the fact that, thanks to its traditional processing, it is able to retain its softness even up to 6-7 days. Which is unthinkable for any other NATURAL bread that does not involve the addition of preservatives.
